Okay so I LOVE being a mom. I don't think there is a person alive who knows me that can doubt that. However, I am human. I do NOT like whining and arguing of said children. This morning was one of those mornings that went something like this...
Kyle - "Mom I don't want the stuff that has any cheese on it"
Me - "Thats not cheese, its egg"
Kyle - "I don't want egg"
Me - "Its going to be difficult to give you egg skillet without eggs"
Kyle - "I want a toaster waffle"
Me - "fine"
I cook a toaster waffle while cleaning the kitchen and getting lunch together.
Kyle - "I don't want a BURNED waffle"
Me- Too da*n bad. Thats what you get"
Ten minutes later princess wakes up and comes down in a sleeveless dress. Um ya so it is -20 degrees out!
Me - "Elisabeth, you are going to have to wear a shirt under that or something."
Elisabeth - "But then I will be HOT!"
Me - "No, you won't it is below freezing outside"
Elisabeth - "I want a pink shirt"
Me - "okay, lets go look"
I pull out a dark pink, long sleeve shirt with a little decoration around the collar.
Elisabeth - "Not DARK pink mom."
Me - "How about white?"
Elisabeth - "White? but mom, the dress is PINK"
Me - "well then lets wear the shirt and a skirt instead"
Elisabeth "Okay" (in my head - that was easy)
Elisabeth (puts on said skirt) - "Mom this isn't the one with Hello Kitty on it"
Me - "nope"
Elisabeth - "I'm not wearing this one its boyish"
Me - "I promise the SKIRT is not boyish"
Elisabeth is now removing the skirt. I find the Hello Kitty skirt and we move on to tights. Now, let me preface this by saying we went tight shopping together and she picked out 6 new pairs of tights to start school. I pick out 2 pink stripped tights and tell her to pick.
Elisabeth - "No mom, I want the pink tights with white stripes not the white tights with pink stripes."
Seriously. She really did!
Me - "Okay, then white it is - and please, tell me again why we bought all these new tights and you never wear them"
Elisabeth - "Well, I didn't know they would be itchy".
Oh. Alrighty then.
Stay tuned for more fun times!

Update - In case there is someone reading this
Okay...I have no idea who would read this that doesn't know me and therefore knows this, but... My daycare is almost FULL. Yes, FULL. We have room for a toddler and 2 before and after school kids. Thats it. HOORAY - Praise God. Thanks!
Who let the lions out?????
Hello my non existant readers. I just have to share this. We were at the park today playing World War III. Kyle had just tricked all the bad guys into a fake meeting so that he could get their guns. Then he talked to the South Korean police chief and got them to sign a peace agreement! If only. Well...moments later he came to report that the Koreans had broken the alliance and Elisabeth says "Oh NO - Someone let out the lions!?!"
HI FREAKIN LARIOUS. I LOVE LOVE LOVE being home to witness this kind of stuff.

Another mouth to feed
So...my daughter's birthday is soon and I made the mistake of taking her to the farm this week. Usually we leave with her begging me for another kitty. This time, we left wanting a bunny. (Please note - I said WE) They NEVER have bunnies because the cats and hawks always raid the nesting boxes. Well, this time the momma bunny was given to the owner knowing she was having babies soon so they put her in an enclosed cage. There were 10 bunnies to choose from. Two are lion heads. I really LOVE lion heads. I tried to breed them once myself but was not successful.
Anyway, I talked it over with Kev and he pretty much said that as long as they weren't to expensive it would be fine. Well, they were free so no problem there. So, I went to the farm to let Elisabeth pick up her beautiful black lionhead bunny and she says "I don't want the lionhead, I want that orange one." To which I reply, but the lionhead is SOOO cute. "But MOM, It's MY BIRTHDAY!"
Well, we now have a rabbit hutch in our backyard with an adorable, tiny, orange and very much loved bunny named Snicker that is NOT a lionhead.
Isn't that funny!?!?!?!?

Funny - ha ha
Well, I find myself in a not so humorous mood at the moment. I find myself actually quite angry. I am angry, scared and disappointed. I really beleive. I DO! I know that God has his hand in every part of my life but why does it have to be so hard? Why am I finding myself in this all too familiar territory of the unknown? I want to just wake up and have my daycare full. No more driving around town stapling signs to posts, no more holding my breathe every time the phone rings hoping it is a foreign number...I just am tired of it. I LOVE what I do and I am good at it. I know this. I need to prove it to other parents. SOON.
Okay, vent over. That felt good.
Humor...maybe tommorow!

Well...I am going to post a funny thing from yesterday anyway. Even though I said I wouldn't until I heard from you! That's alright. Okay so here goes...
Yesterday, Elisabeth was in the field looking at a bunny hole she had found while flying kites with Aunt Stine and was very sad to discover another had died. Two out of three is not a good ratio. Anyway, on the sad walk back to the house I tripped over a PILE of bunnies! TWELVE tiny rabbits leaving the nest. It was incredible. I really wish I had the foresight to click pics with my cell but I didn't. So, this post is lacking photographic flare but I will get better at this!
So we all sat there and watched all twelve bunnies hop out into the world. It was very cool. Some even hopped across the street and into OUR yard. How neat is that!?!
Well...not so neat when you back up over one with the mini-van! That's right folks I squished Thumper, or should I say Thumped, right in front of the kids. I sped away as quickly as was safe and told them it was just a bird that had landed on the driveway. NOT a bunny. And certainly not a DEAD bunny!!
Oh the joys.
